If you import an unprotected spreadsheet, all action items are treated as new upon import and may result in the creation of duplicate action items. Even if you protect the spreadsheet again, if you have made updates, such as changing the column order, the import fails. We have all had those moments where we have a thousand things going on, but how many times have you actually taken the time to put together an action register for them? In Project Management, you are hopefully using some form of this to keep track of all your todo’s, or other peoples tasks. We don’t always have to put together an elaborate to show our projects. Sometimes it is something just as simple as an action register. You know, something that just keeps track of all those little things going on. Excel Action Register Template. Creating the Action Register Well, I really tried to keep this one simple but also have enough information in it to keep it meaningful and useful. The ability to scale to meet a single project or multiple projects was a must. Whether or not I wanted to track actions just for myself or my team was another areas I wanted to ensure I captured in the action register. Other than that, I kept it very straight forward in the sense of what is going on, who owns it, what is the status, and when should it be completed. Some simple calculations were also added to the action register so that I can see at a glance where everything is. This allows for flexibility so that I can see how far along I am with a particular initiative. So in short, you can use this for a single project, multiple projects, single users, or multiple users. It is really how you see fit in using the template. How ever you use the template though, I hope it comes in handy and solves for whatever needs you are looking for.
